NCSC is a part of the Norwegian Security Authority (NSM). We are Norway's national cyber security centre and home to the national CERT*; NorCERT. We handle severe computer attacks against critical infrastructure and information. Our mission is to enhance Norway's resilience in the digital domain.

On an international level we are the Norwegian point of contact in the field of ICT threats and cyber security incidents.

Norwegian Computer Emergency Response Team - NorCERT

*CERT stands for Computer Emergency Response Team and is a coordinating unit for ICT security events dedicated to cyber security and incident handling.

Our three main activities are:

  • Response to cyber threats and incidents in our technical threat operation centre 24/7
  • Operate and organise a national sensor network on the internet to detect data breaches in critical infrastructure across sectors
  • Reverse engineering, forensics, network analysis and counterintelligence

Trusted Introducer

NorCERT is, and has been accredited by Trusted Introducer since January 2007.  The Trusted Introducer (TI) service provides accreditation and certification to Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) across Europe.

Member of FIRST

NorCERT is a member of FIRST, the global Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams. FIRST is the premier organization and recognized global leader in incident response. Membership in FIRST enables incident response teams to more effectively respond to security incidents reactive as well as proactive. You can read more on FIRST's own webpage

Member of European Government CERTs (EGC) group

NorCERT is also a member of EGC, the EGC group forms an informal association of governmental CERTs in Europe. Its members effectively co-operate on matters of incident response by building upon a fundament of mutual trust and understanding due to similarities in constituencies and problem sets.

NCSC NorCERT is an authorized user of the CERT Mark

"CERT" is a registered trademark owned by Carnegie Mellon University. Computer security incident response teams (CSIRTs) that share the SEI's commitment to improving the security of networks connected to the Internet may apply for authorization to use the "CERT" mark in their names.
